jasmine season

on unknown park trails, a welcome walk
& that scent--I know that scent!

steamy & rain-drenched pink blossoms
i walk, staggering, breathing them in
such tropical flowers this far north??
the most intoxicating smell i know!

& i hear those words that whisper,
"you will come like the rain"

i will drink deeply of this love.

We had a Jasmine vine in Portugal that bloomed next to the front door near our bedroom window. The fragrance reminds me of sleeping with the windows wide open. So nice.

And PS to answer your question, conversantlife.com wants to connect faith to news and culture. They asked me to blog on global concerns and social issues.

I associate jasmine with Portugal. And the Borden's house.

He'll come like the rain! I ended up buying that Misty Edwards on iTunes. So good. We pretty much sang every song at One Thing two years ago, so it brings back good memories.
